Nazareth Background Remover
Technical architecture, neural model specification, and batch workflow guide for the Nazareth offline segmentation engine.
1. Neural Engine Overview
Nazareth Background Remover is an offline, privacy-focused image segmentation engine engineered by RiddleTech. Unlike cloud-dependent background removal APIs that upload confidential media to remote servers, Nazareth executes ONNX Runtime inference directly on the host machine using CUDA or DirectML acceleration.
2. Neural Segmentation Architecture
The segmentation model utilizes a modified U2-Net and IS-Net deep neural network pipeline optimized for fine edge detection (hair strands, transparent glass, complex fabric textures):
- Input Resolution: Resized to 1024x1024 RGB feature tensors.
- Alpha Matte Generation: Outputs a high-precision 8-bit grayscale alpha channel map.
- Refinement Pass: Applies adaptive guided filtering to eliminate color bleeding along foreground edges.
3. ESRGAN Super-Resolution Integration
In addition to alpha channel extraction, Nazareth integrates an optional Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network (ESRGAN) upscaling pipeline:
# Sample CLI invocation for batch processing with 4x ESRGAN upscaling
nazareth-cli.exe --input "C:/Graphics/RawBatch" \
--output "C:/Graphics/ProcessedPNG" \
--model isnet-general \
--alpha-matting true \
--upscale 4x \
--format png
4. Batch Operations & Workflow
Nazareth supports both an intuitive GUI interface and a headless CLI mode for integration into commercial image rendering pipelines.
